Current projects include The Ministerial Broadcast (the behind the scenes battle between Margaret Thatcher and Norman Fowler as the UK government prepared its response to the looming crisis of HIV/AIDS in 1986); It's Only Me, Boys! (the remarkable life of Rev Captain Theodore Bayley Hardy, one of the most decorated non-combatants in the First World War); and Didn't He Do Well? Founder and Director of Verity Productions, David Balcombe was born and educated in Eastbourne. He was a leading member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and studied drama at the University of Manchester. David enjoyed a long career in arts management, at the helm of three of the country's foremost training companies: the
Founder and Director of Verity Productions, David Balcombe was born and educated in Eastbourne. He was a leading member of the National Youth Theatre of Great Britain, and studied drama at the University of Manchester. David enjoyed a long career in arts management, at the helm of three of the country's foremost training companies: the National Youth Theatre, Chickenshed Theatre Company and British Youth Opera. Since 2018 David has been focusing on writing and developing projects, as well as becoming heavily involved in his local community in his adopted county of East Devon. He is also proud to be co-Chair of Exeter Northcott Theatre.
